Volunteering at Or Shalom
Or Shalom members play a major role in creating, organizing and staffing our events. A rich array of programs would not be possible without the commitment of members, families and friends to one another and to the community.
The Office Havurah always has administrative tasks in the office awaiting a volunteer’s hands. Contact the office to volunteer or get more information.
During the High Holy Days, all members of the synagogue are asked to help in whatever way they can, from shopping for supplies and setting up the sanctuary to greeting congregants and setting the tables for the break-the-fast meal. It’s our participation that helps to make it happen.
Our Tikkun Olam Committee welcomes participation in its tikkun olam work, from beach cleanups to phone-bank work. Our Chesed Committee can always use help bringing food and other comfort and aid to families during difficult passages. The Choir and musical ensemble welcomes new members at all times. Or help the Membership Committee with a community event like the annual picnic or the New Member Dinner.
For ongoing volunteer opportunities in these and other groups, check our Committees and Groups page.
