Rabbi Transition
INTERIM Pastoral Care
With Rabbi Katie's departure -- we will miss her! -- our beloved member Rabbi Me'irah Iliinsky is stepping up to offer pastoral care as needed and also to lead occasional Shabbat services. Please contact the Or Shalom office (tel # 415-469-5542) to get Rabbi Me'irah's contact number, for your pastoral care needs.
Rabbi Transition
After 15 wonderful years of teaching, support, guidance and joy, Rabbi Katie Mizrahi is moving back to her native Colorado to lead a congregation in the Denver area. Or Shalom will miss her very much. The community wishes her the best on her new journey and celebrates all the gifts she has given us. Click here for moving tributes to Rabbi Katie
Or Shalom's leadership is committed to ensuring that we continue to nurture our caring, engaging, lively community. As we move through this Rabbi transition, we will work from our founding principles: diverse backgrounds and individual paths are not just accepted, but celebrated. Many Or Shalom households are interfaith and/or biracial. We welcome Jews and non-Jews.
The congregation is currently working to hire an Interim Rabbi through the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association (RRA). Our weekly newsletter (link on the home page) includes updates on our search. Please contact the Rabbi Search Committee for more information
