2020-21 Financial Commitment Renewal

Dear Or Shalom Member,

As I sit to write our annual renewal letter, I am struck by a deep sadness for our nation. With our country suffering through the pandemic as well as an eruption of grief and anger over police violence against African Americans, it’s hard to focus on the good in the world. Yet, it is during these troubling times that I am most thankful for Or Shalom, Light of Peace, and I find comfort in the wisdom of our tradition.

I am grateful to Rabbi Katie, Zehava, Mikey, Lillian, and community leaders for bringing light to our lives as we face the challenges of the pandemic. Together we will continue to deepen our community bonds. I believe we have the spirit and the talent to respond to these times with creativity and wisdom, reconstructing our practice and keeping our connections to one another strong.

We hope you are in a position to renew your commitment at or above the amount you pledged last year. Your dedication to Or Shalom allows us to continue to meet each rising challenge with the spiritual fortitude that we all need.

As we ask for your 2020-2021 financial commitment, we know that some of us may be facing tough times financially, and we want you to know that we never turn people away because of financial hardship.  Please do not think that you must stop connecting to Or Shalom because you are having a difficult financial time.

On the other hand, this open and inclusive policy works only because those who do have means are willing to be generous. Like many small organizations, Or Shalom is planning for economic challenges which may impact personnel, programs, and beyond. We hope that if you are fortunate enough to have financial stability, you will give even beyond the level you have in the past in order to sustain our community as a whole through this difficult time.

This pandemic shows us all the value of what we miss at Or Shalom while we can’t be together in person. It also shows us what Or Shalom can be and offer even in times of great challenge. I hope you will join me in supporting our beloved community to keep our light shining in this time of darkness. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.

With best wishes for good health, physically and spiritually,
Janet Jacobs, President

There are many methods to pay your Financial Commitment. Paper check(s) are the least expensive and have no fee.  eChecks are the next least expensive method, followed by single or recurring credit card charges. We are now including the credit card convenience fee for all credit card mediated transactions.
Bet Sefer enrollment will occur in late summer.

Upon hitting the submit button, you will be directed to a PAYMENT CONFIRMATION page and charges for your financial commitment and donation, if applicable, will be added to your account.

If paying by check, simply click the 'bill my account' button (keep payment terms on "pay once now' and send in your payment(s).

If paying by eCheck, directions to add your bank information will be found on the payment page.
